Lime Dosing – Maintaining Mine Water pH A mine needed to alter the pH value of the mine water from 2-3 on its exit from the mine to a more neutral 7. Verderflex recommended its range of pumps because of their ability to dose with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability and the pump would easily be able to handle the abrasive lime product. They currently have two VF25 pumps: one which doses 30% activated lime to a filter press as part of a lime-dosing unit and a second which runs with a 1.5kW, 56rpm cyclo drive gearbox with discharge pressures of 5-8 bar, depending on the return flow from the mine.
